 Hi Everyone

MARCH CLUBDAY

Clubday this month is Sunday 21 March and the track direction is reverse ( anti clockwise ). The duty class is all senior drivers so please make sure you are there a bit earlier to help with setup and there at the end of racing to help with tidy up. The free sausage sizzle at the end of racing is getting good support and we paln to continue these on, so please come and join us for a drink, sausage and prize giving after your days racing.

GOLDSTAR

Last weekend we held our clubs round of the annual Goldstar series. It was great to see the large turnout of karts who came and enjoyed a glorious fine day at our track. Plenty of close racing and some excellent results from our members. Great feed back from those out of town drivers about the high level of presentation that our track currently has and good comments on our various improvements. We did stuggle to find enough of our members to help on the day and did have to pay some outside people to help us. Special thanks to those members who did help on the day.

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP

A reminder that your membership to the club expires at the end of March. The new forms will be on the club websitewww.kartsportwellington.co.nz soon. You will need to do an application for club membership and also a seperate key application if you currently hold a key to the track. New keys are sent out once we have recieved your old key back so remeber to send your old key with your application. The lock on the front gate is changed on 1 April. Lookout for our snappy new look membership cards. Special thanks for there design and printing must go to Marty Hunt at Typeface.

KARTPORTS AND TRAILER PARKS

Now that the new Kartports are finished and ready we have a few available for lease. Currently there are 4 Kartports in the new block and existing Kartport 12 that has become available. These Kartports are great especially over the coming winter months and means you dont have to worry about easyups blowing away. The cost is $125 from now until the end of September and as lease holder you have the first right of renewal for the next 12 month period. Let me know if you have some interest and I can send you a site plan, or see me at clubday.

FINALLY

  • We are looking at holding a tech day at the track for our members sometime in July and will let you know more details soon.
  • To keep the maintenance of the track up we will need to do a working bee sometime in late April and again will let you know the date soon.
  • The date has been set for our annual general meeting and this is down for Tuesday 29 June 2010 starting at 7.30pm and should be at The Angus Inn Lower Hutt.
  • We were planning a have a go day for members of the public to come and have a try in a kart this month, but due to the large number of events on at the moment we have postponed this until later in the year. If you have someone who wants a test drive we can do these in the lunch break on clubdays, by appointment.

If you have any suggestions or ideas for the club let me know.

Enjoy the great weather and see you all at the track.

Regards,

Wayne Keats
